Power Supply Issue in X31 ..is the motherboard fried?
First issue in the system was that the ram would unseat itself and the system would turn on but not boot up. Then suddenly, the system would not turn on at all. After leaving it for a few hours and playing with the dc jack/ ac adapter, it turned on, but it still wouldn't turn on from battery. However, when I unplugged the power, it would run from battery just fine. It wouldn't turn on at all with the battery installed. Finally, after removing the cmos battery and discharging the capacitors, the system stopped turning on altogether.
Things to note:
Power button had to be pressed very hard to turn on.
Power was supplied to the system only when the AC adapter was plugged in a certain way with no battery installed.
The battery would not charge when the ac adapter was plugged in, but would charge when it was put back in after the system was started.
I think that I'll probably just have to replace the board, but would would cause bizarre symptoms like that?

Mobo
I may sell you the dead board, but I am trying to figure out a way to get a reasonably priced replacement. There seems to be nothing less than $200 on ebay. Do you think a docking station may overide the charging system, or will it act the same?
