New laptop design more ThinkPad than not
New laptop design more ThinkPad than not
IBM used to make laptop computers called ThinkPads. Many people really liked those computers, but IBM doesn’t make computers anymore.
They sold that business to Chinese computer manufacturer Lenovo, which now makes ThinkPads as well as laptops under their own brand name. They’re about to announce a new model — the Lenovo 3000 V100.
As you might expect, the Lenovo laptop bears a large family resemblance to its older cousin the ThinkPad. ThinkPads are black inside and out — although some new ones have a silver outer lid. The Lenovo is a dark metallic gray – with a silver outer lid.

Lenovo 3000 != ThinkpadBgradid wrote:No trackpoint
I don't know, but what is so scary about that 3000 Series system not having a Trackpoint? It isn't as if it is a mainline Thinkpad without a Trackpoint. Besides, they use pretty much the same keyboard mechnical design that they copied off the Thinkpads; which explain the good reviews of the keyboard for the 3000s thus far.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

IBM doesn't make computers anymore?
I guess that Blue Gene/ at LLNL, the ones at LBNL, and my workstations are just an illusion then...
Take a look at; http://www.ibm.com/products/us/
I still see a bunch of high-quality computer systems there, don't you?
I think that the "original" ideas and definitions of "computer" have changed over the years. IBM sold the PCD division, not all of their computers. Computers are more than just the PC on your desk.
