Unavailable Wireless Network Connection

#1 Post by mavedrive » Sun Jun 04, 2006 3:49 am

Hello Guys,

I just got my X60s and tried configuring the wireless network
connection. I got a wireless router (11b) which my T30 and X40 are
also connecting. I had tried configuring network connection using
the WEP network key, SSID etc similar to that of my other laptops
but then my x60s always says "No wireless networks were found
in range". I had tried putting it into near (just beside to be exact)
my wi-fi router, but nothing happens. Still it cannot detect it...

In the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection Properties,
the Wireless is ON, and had set the Wireless Mode property to
802.11b only.

I read on the Intel site that some hardware implementation had a
hardware switch which can be enabled using keys like e.g. Shift+F2.
Im just wondering if x60s had this kind of HW switch as well.

My router is Corega WLBAR-11 (sorry the page is in Japanese).

Any ideas and suggestions?

Thanks
Maverick

are you referring to the combo-box with "Wireless On" and "Wireless Off"
selections? i had switched that to "Wireless On" already.
(i.e. the Wireless On item is checked). still i got "No wireless
networks were found in range" message.

if you mean the other thing around, could you please be more
specific? please note that my T30 and X40 laptops can connect to
my router and i had made the same settings to the Intel PRO/
Wireless 3945ABG network connection...

thanks

You should try the tiny hardware switch on the front of the machine.
If it is in off position you won't experience wireless regardless of any other setting.
