t41 sound card/usb ports suddenly stopped working

hey all.. my sound card and usb ports on my t41 all of a sudden stopped working - the BIOS doesn't even recognize that I have a sound card, so I can't update drivers or anything

the TP is out of warranty - anyone have any suggestions?

this also just happened on my friend's t42.. but his is in warranty..

That sounds like a motherboard failure.

Call IBM they may help you diagnose it.
