Can T43 Recovery CDs be used on a T40P?

Is it possible to use Windows XP T43 recovery CDs on a T40p? Are there any configuration changes that need to be made if you can use it? Thanks for any help.

Yes, simply download and run the Lenovo provided "Software Installer" after the recovery is complete.

don't think so. the recovery CD can't be used on T42, not to mention t40. the motherboard is quite different.

The recovery CD loads XP on the machine, then reboots and XP performs a fresh install, loading ONLY the drivers it requires for the hardware it finds.

When it finishes doing its thing, download and run the Software Installer and all of the T40p specific drivers and sofware will be downloaded and installed, NOT the T43 ones. The Software Installer is model specific when run.
