X41T - Screen Back Light goes off

I have the X41 Tablet for almost a year and about two months ago I started to have problems changing it to Tablet mode. At first the screen would need to be rotated slowly for the screen orientation to work and for the back light to stay on. Now when I push the screen pass the vertical position it goes dark. The screen image is still there but the back light is off. No amount of waiting makes any difference. I have upgraded all the drivers I can find. Anyone come across this problem? I hate to think that this may be a hardware issue, as hardware support here is not straight forward.

Unfortunately, it really does sound like a hardware issue.

You might want to try pressing Fn-F3 when the LCD looks like it's off though. Fn-F3 toggles the LCD.

The machine is going back for repair. Seems to be the only answer for now.
