Safe to hot-plug PS/2 mouse on 600x

#1 Post by Biggs » Tue Jun 06, 2006 4:53 pm

I plug in/out my PS/2 mouse all the time. It works everytime (so far) but I'm concerned about long term effects. I know PS/2 ports by nature are not hot-pluggable so is the 600x's mouse port an exception to the rule?

No damage will be done by hot-plugging on the PS/2 port.

i plugged a mouse into an old dell a while ago, and it never worked again. at least at that time i didnt know what the bios or safe mode was, so that probably could have been remedied.
