Does anyone know?

The best retailer to buy from is Lenovo.

30 days no-questions-asked return policy.

And the prices are line ball with the resellers.

I have no specific information about CostCentral, but I would expect anyone whose first name is cost to be focused on Cost, not service. Good service costs money.

I believe our host Bill will sell you a TP with a no dead pixel guarantee - he does that by going through his stock until he finds a perfect screen. He of course charges extra for the service.

I bought my T42 new from Cost Central. I had no problems with the purchase. The model I bought was in stock and arrived quickly. As far as the pre-sale went, they could not accurately answer my technical questions on the models I was considering. I had to call IBM to find out reliable answers to my questions (that was also before I knew about this forum). Last time I looked, they had a very extensive line of ThinkPads available for purchase (which ones were actually in stock, I don't know).

They are very good on price, but make sure you do your homework first regarding the model and features that you are looking for.

I really don't remember what their warranty policy is, but I believe the actual warranty is covered by Lenovo, not Cost Central.

Most retailers will not let you return a Thinkpad period. You have to deal with Lenovo and warranty.
