I have a X60s and am using a T41 today. I noticed the wireless reception on the T41 is much better than on the X60s. Both have stock Intel wireless cards preinstalled.
I would get extra networks detected and the signal strength would be a couple of bars more.
For example, right now I'm in my house and I see 4 wireless networks on the T41, including my own. The 3 other networks show FULL bars. I know one of the networks is 2 houses down the street (since it's labeled as the location) and it's still showing up as FULL reception.
I almost find it hard to believe, but I doubt that it's making up random network names too and also giving it full bars.
Anybody else experience this when compared to other laptop/wireless cards?

I compared my T43 to an X60 a few days ago and there wasn't much difference in the network strength from what I saw; even when both units were far away from the router.
I do know what you mean. I have seen my T43 do that with an X40 and wondered why. The T43 didn't "exagerate" but the X40 kept keeping the signal strength even though it was pretty far away from the router and the signal should have been less than 100%.

My thinkpad T41 does this also. It seems to think it has 100% reception all the time when, if you look at the windows wireless icon, you will see the true reception (which can be 'very low' or 'low' whilst still showing full bars). The only happened since the drivers were released for Access Connections ~3.60+. I did a fresh install last week and had correctly reported strength under the original driver but none since then.
