HELP! With Seagate Momentus 160GB Hard Drive in T43

#1 Post by mfratt » Fri Jun 09, 2006 4:17 pm

I have a T43 2669-C8U. I recently bought the Seagate Momentus 5400.3 160GB Hard Drive for it. When I try to boot, I get Error 2010, claiming that the drive is not supported. If I press Esc to continue, it works fine, but I can not stand the delay and annoyance when booting. After some searching, it is apparently due to a drive whitelist in the bios. I tried all the bios updates and everything, to no avail. Apparently, the 120GB drives have slightly more support, but no go for the 160. Any suggestions?

None that I can think of right now. There should be a BIOS update that gets rid of the need to hit Esc and just leaves the beep.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

just live with the 2010 errors first.
one day, IBM will fix the BIOS bug.

I doubt it. They consider it a "feature".
This error is purposely generated..........
