gigE throughput problem

Hi,

I recognized a stange behaviour with my T42 (WinXP SP2) with Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection NIC. (Driver Version: Build 94590)

When I run IOMeter to measure network throughput I get:

Running on battery:
read 36-37 MB/s
write 24-25 MB/s

When running the same test but with power cable connected I get:
Read 13-14 MB/s
Write 7-8 MB/s

Very strange isnt it?
Because of Speedstep I would at least understand if it would be the other way around.
Any hint would be highly appreciated.

Hi,

now I tested different power supplies, power wall plugs, network cables
but the problem remains as described above.

There must be thousands of T42 model 2373 with XPSP2 in the field.
Has noone seen this behaviour on his machine?

The Switch is a SMC 8508T (721.8131)
