T60 outdated? T61 as well, going straight to T62 in Q1/200/?

I agree with you. But I think the OP, who calls the T60 "outdated" (and that was back in June 2006!!!), belongs to the first category, and most comments in this thread were directed against such an attitude.

I think it's wise for someone in your position to wait for Santa Rosa.

T60 is perfectly fine machine, even if it is a year old.

Want some more juice - upgrade to Merom. the NET of my upgrade from T2600 to T7200 cost me $40 or so. That is selling old CPU. [GF laptop]

Myself - I use T42p, why, just because I had to get rid of old T40 I was working on and T42p with IPS screen was lying around.
I would be perfectly fine working on T40. It's fast enough to do what I do - that is everything but the Video games.

Do I want "better", faster laptop - yes I do; do I need it - no.

Want T61, T62, T7... Go help yourself, just be more MONEY WISE.
