SOLD: Built from scratch T41p/T42p 2.1Ghz
SOLD: Built from scratch T41p/T42p 2.1Ghz
I am replacing my husband's T41p with a T60 this week so looking to see if there is interest in this T41p. Will be forsale to continental USA buyers only.
The LCD is 14.1" SXGA+ resolution. The LCD has a couple of scratches and a couple of tiny chips in it but no dead or stuck pixels. It still works perfectly though and I personally find the scratches and chips less annoying than a stuck pixel. My husband doesn't seem to notice they are there but he's not particularly observant. The LCD has also been hand polished and is somewhat glossy in appearance. A picture is here: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/tselling/ ... pg&.src=ph
If you look closely you can see my reflection in the LCD.
I built this Thinkpad pretty much from scratch (parts from Ebay and IBM). Motherboard is the 128MB ATI FireGL T2 that is found in both the T41p and T42p. It has the T41p clearplates on the LCD bezel. It currently has a 2.1Ghz Dothan CPU (Intel 765). I put the T43 fan in it for increased cooling. I will be selling it with 1gb ram (2x512mb) and a 7K60 60gb hard drive. It also has the atheros wifi mini-pci card and bluetooth. I think the atheros card is a newer revision that what originally came in the T41p... but not 100% sure on that. The Thinkpad is in very good shape other than the LCD blemishes noted above. It includes the ultrabay slim combo CDRW/DVD drive. It has a 6-cell battery and I can include another 6-cell battery and an ultrabay battery. The batteries have been used and are in green/yellow status. I will also include 2 ac-adapters. Also includes factory Recovery CDs.
Since it was built from parts, it has no serial number or factory warranty though I will guarantee it works perfectly and give a money back guarantee (minus $25 for shipping and buyer is responsible for return insured shipping) for 10 days. It would have to be returned in same shape received and not missing any parts or accessories to qualify for a refund.
I am looking for $875 including insured fedex ground shipping. If there are no takers at this price I am considering selling the 2.1ghz dothan cpu for $315 shipped and picking up a 1.7Ghz banias CPU to put in it. With a 1.7Ghz CPU would be $700 including shipping. If no interest at that price, I will probably just part the whole thing out. Again only forsale to buyers in the 48 Continental USA states. Money-order or Paypal for payment.
Let me know if anyone is interested or any specific questions. I expect the T60 to arrive on Tuesday. Probably be Friday before the T41p would be ready to ship.
Thanks.

I also forgot to mention that it comes with a Windows XP COA but I had to tape the COA down with package tape because it had been partially pulled off when I got the base.

As requested additional pictures of LCD and batteries. Note that I included 2 6-cell batteries and one ultrabay battery in the listing. I actually have 2 ultrabay batteries but one is in red status. I can include it as well if someone wants to see if it will recondition, otherwise I was going to toss it. Sorry I was unable to get the scratch to show up in the photos. But the scratch is in all the battery life photos.
