How do I change Centrino Logo on Bootup

#1 Post by KillerStudio » Sat Jun 10, 2006 3:38 pm

How do I change the bootup logo on the upper right? I heard that if you have an Intel Pentium M Processor, Intel Chipset, and Intel Wireless it becomes a Centrino Logo. How do I change it to the Blue/White Pentium M logo?

Same with my T43P..I flashed the Bios and it became the new Pentium M logo and I want it to be the older Blue/White Pentium M logo.

Thanks!

Never seen one around. You could make your own image (640x480) to include the "IBM ThinkPad" text and a well as a PentiumM logo, or you hack the current boot-up image.

The logo changes automatically based on the type of wifi card in your laptop. You see the cnetrino logo at boot-up because you have an intel chipset wifi card in your machine. If youdisable wifi it in the bios then you'll see the pentium M logo at bootup. ... then, of course, you won't have access to wifi after boot-up.

You can copy them from the following web page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentium-M

With my browser (Opera 8.54), I can right-click on the image to save it. I am not sure if this works with other browsers or not.

Some people disable right-click abilities with JavaScript. This can be overcome with banner busters (I use WebWasher classic), and IE can sometimes ignore such scripts.

I have to make the whole background with both the thinkpad logo and Pentium M logo? Does anyone have these already made up and would be nice enough to send it to me?

Thanks!

Also, such scripts aren't good enough to work against Firefox+BSD or Firefox+Linux; a simple drag+drop onto the desktop on some distros and WMs can circumvent those scripts because it gets it from the browser cache anyway and needs not generate a right-click event for it; which is what the code is expecting to block. :)
