battery functions will mostly likely work without you having to do anything. special keys like historyback, fn keys might work, but you might need to do some configuring. google "think wiki" for more info.

fartonmyear (I'd actually rather not) is probably referring to ThinkWiki, probably the most comprehensive Linux on ThinkPads site on the 'net right now.

Here's a direct link: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/ThinkWiki

KITT, short answer to your question; all the LEDs will work and so will the Fn combo buttons. More or less depending on which distro you get and whether or not it has tpb packaged with it already. The browser keys and the middle scroll button can be made to work perfectly; in the case of the latter, it is a two line modification to the xorg config and, for the browser keys, it is a modification to both Firefox and X.

The ibm_acpi should handle everything quite nicely, although it is recommended that you get the latest patches if you encounter problems with any power saving mode.

The thermal ACPI manager for the battery should work out of the box; again, depending on which distro you choose.

She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
