Thinkpad 701CS charging problem

#1 Post by hideki » Mon Jun 12, 2006 1:08 am

Hihi again

Should this machine only be charging the battery when the machine is on? no lights when it is off but they spring to life when you switch on the machine...

not sure if this is a fault or just me

Yes, that's an oddity of the 701 machines. They only charge the battery when the machine is on.

It would have been even better to know that before I completely tore my first machine apart years ago trying to figure out why it wouldn't charge.

A simple case of RTFM!

It won't charge if it's off or hibernated but it should charge if on or suspended.
