I report this so that others will be aware. After many, many T series ThinkPads, I have not had one with a finish this soft. Not one of my other machines has this kind of damage. This is very dissapointing.
Oh well... it is what it is....

Yes I did notice that since it's CFRP, at least it doesn't show very much and the "average person would hardly notice"....K. Eng wrote:I wouldn't worry about this too much. The soft finish eventually wears off on the corners, but the material itself won't develop holes unless you scrape it off with a metal instrument.
Keep those cards and letters coming folks... I'm feeling better already.christopher_wolf wrote:Yup, same here; the finish wears off a little at the points where it gets stressed and sheared the most, namely the corners.
You really made me laugh with your comments here. A terrific analogy!rockefella wrote:Archer,
If it makes you feel any better, I got these large silver corners peeking through the black coating on the corners of my T42. I like to think of them as the "tattoos" beneath my Thinkpad's Armani suit.
Silver? It should be black underneath.rockefella wrote:Archer,

It will happen, sooner or much later, if it is handled enough; regardless of the precautions taken...ramian wrote:I'm thinking this soft finish is only on the newer Thinkpads. I don't see this problem on my T30.
Dude, I almost had coffee coming out of my nose when I read this.archer6 wrote: Keep those cards and letters coming folks... I'm feeling better already.![]()
