Z60m HHD replacement

#1 Post by dnewhous » Tue Jun 13, 2006 5:09 pm

I'm considering replacing the HDD in my Z60m with a 100GB/7200. Anyone have suggestions as to which one to pick?

Thx,
David

I would go with the Hitachi 100GB 7200RPM HDDs; reliable, high-performance, and pretty quiet. :)

Would you expect the system to be noticably faster with this HDD?

Thx.

Thanks for the HDD recommendation.

Can someone recommend software for imaging the disk from my C: drive? Thx.

Acronis True Image. Fantastic, easy to use, and reliable. :)

Is it true that you have to use an SATA drive? I am not too versed in notebook drives; I know there is SATA & ATA-6. On the Lenova web site the replacement drives are SATA. Would an ATA-6 work as well, or are the pins/connector different, etc.? Thanks!

You have to use SATA drives for it since the Z60m uses SATA drives. :)
