I'm buying a new laptop to replace my current one (dell latitude d505). After hearing so many good things about thinkpads, I've decided that I want one.
But I can't decide between the t60 and the x60.
I plan on using the laptop for both personal/business use (no games) and I'll usually be traveling with it on weekends. I've never used a laptop that is smaller than my current one (15inch), so I don't know how a x60 will be.
Any one have experiences with both? Which one do you like better? Use more?
First thinkpad - t60 or x60?
I have both (see sig) and like them both. The way I see it, the T60(p) is a workhorse. If I had to converge on one machine it would be a 14" T60p. The 15" is a bit big to travel with a lot.
The X60s is a killer travel machine: light, small, fast, long battery life, etc. However, I think that the XGA screen is a tad small for the actual work (i.e. the stuff I do that's not writing emails, surfing the web, writing basic documents) that I do.
P.S. You might get more views on the T60 or X60 forums, but don't cross post (mods will not be pleased).

X60s (1704-69U)
T60p (2623-DDU)
T60p (2623-DDU)
I have had both for awhile now and I must say it would be a hard choice. However that said, I would stick with my T60 with the 15" display, as it's just .6 lbs heavier and a bit larger, than the 14.1". The flexview screen is so bright and the color so rich that I would not want to go back to a non flexview. Presently they are not offered on the 14.1". The other benefit for me with the 15" is less scrolling which is always nice. The other aspect of the IPS flexview display is there is less eyestrain during long periods of usage, as it's so much clearer than a non IPS display.
I have used the T series for years and find it to be the perfect size for daily and long term use.
