Ati drivers?

#1 Post by Guest » Sat Aug 07, 2004 10:45 pm

Hi everyone,
I though the linux driver for the grahic card Ati9600 of the T42 would be in ati.com, however they are not there. Do you know where to get it?
Thanks in advance. Regards

try here...
http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/linu ... linux.html

And if you're using Fedora Core 2, then the following should help...

any one used the drivers in ATI ?

I installed the drivers from this link on my T42 (ATI 9600 mobility).
I am using SUSE 9.1 professional.

http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/linu ... linux.html

After install I ran fglrxconfig. That it. When I rebooted I had a blank screen . I had to remove the driver again to my display back. I wanted to know if anyone already tried these drivers.

Also Can we get 1400x1050 resolution with these drivers ?

Could you put down the steps you followed for installing and configuring the ATI drivers. The fglrxconfig asked me a lot of questions about key board , mouse etc.. I thought it could have detected these things directly.

I'm running the ati drivers on a T42 (model 23739VA) at 1400x1050 on kernel 2.6.8 (gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.8-r3).

Here's my xorg.conf file...

http://tigger.smu.edu.sg/stuff/t42-gentoo-xorg.conf

If you're going to use my xorg.conf file as is, you will have to install the synaptics driver.

Also, I haven't been able to get the ati drivers to work with the radeon framebuffer kernel driver. So, I've decided to forgo the 1400x1050 splash-screen :?

Also note that the only refresh rate that seems to work with the 1400x1050 LCD display is 50Hz.

Hope this helps.

With SuSE 9.1 you should download the drivers from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supple ... rx/3.11.1/ and follow the instructions in the README file.

XF86config(-4) for R50P / Kernel 2.6 config

#7 Post by grumbledook » Mon Nov 08, 2004 1:38 pm

Any XF86config(-4) incl _full_ OpenGL support with the ATI fglrx 3.11.1 driver for the R50P available? Do I have to reconfigure & compile the kernel as well? (I'm using SuSE 9.1 2.6.5-7.111-default. A 2.6.x kernel config for the R50P would be great ... a precompiled kernel would be even better ;o)) glxgears runs only with <50fps in fullscreen (1600x1200). Should one unload the kernel modules "intel_agp" and "agpgart" and use the drivers own "agpgart" support? What about mtrr (on or off)?
Cheers,
Grumbledook
