Can anyone tell me why (apart from the obvious) I keep getting *Invalid Product Key* when I try to access Windows-Update manually on my R50e, but it seems to update OK automatically. and my WinXP *is* genuine.
I've been on to Lenovo - that was a laugh!! No it wasn't!
Kind regards,
wetone

Invalid...etc.
Thanks for your prompt reply James,
Yes - they are different!
But I don't have to use the "Key" - MS does a search allegedly to see what updates are required and then comes up with their moronic remark, with no opportunity to put my plea of 'not guilty'!
Any ideas of how to get around this.
Chas.

Re: Invalid...etc.
Not really, except to allow it to perform the downloads automatically (you said that works OK?) and then set the update applet to let you manually select which updates to perform.wetone wrote:Any ideas of how to get around this.

Great minds think alike - so they say....
Or it could be that I was offered an auto update this morning and all went OK!....so I decided to do just as you sugested.
It's all a mite strange though - so if you do come across a solution give us a bell - I'm set up to be notified.
Thanks for your time James.
