Gmail is too creepy

Gmail is good for storing junk documents but it is not safe to send e-mails especially when you start to send mails to your loved ones. Gmail got 1 disadvantage that is... it strips the original IP from the headers thus causing more spammers and some idiots will also make use of this free service and take this rare opportunity to send endless harressment e-mails and if you make an abuse report to gmail, they will reply you something like this: we will take action against the abusers but we cannot reveal what actions we will take against them to third parties. <-- i summarised the whole reply from gmail abuse team.

Have a three gmails accoutn so far. No spam. Although i hate how they group emails. SO if I delete and email I received it deletes all replies I have sent and received back. Only major downside.

i havent checked mine in a few months, so i imagine it will soon be deactivating itself. i got more spam on gmail then i do through comcast, but not as much as on hotmail. i never used my gmail address anywhere on the internet though, the hotmail was my registration and info request kind of account that i didnt care about.

Hotmail has all my spam. But that was my first email address. So far gmail has been tight for over a year. however I do have one that i use to sign up for everything such as activations, or downloads of updates for real player and Epson stuff, they ask for an email.

When you register for gmail, they will send a verification code to your handphone. I am going to sign one up and try to download all my junks into the server. How is the format like? Is it easy to use or difficult?

You can delete an individual e-mail. Just click on the More Options link in the specific e-mail you want to delete (it's next to the date), and there's a "Delete this message" option there.

I love Gmail. I have several different accounts for different uses. One for a really high-volume mailing list, one for all ThinkPad-related things, and one that my real e-mail address gets forwarded to. I also use that last one as an additional storage spot for some files (pictures, resume, etc) for access anywhere and ease of use.

I really don't get a lot of spam at any of them, and most of what does slip through is neatly filtered into the Spam folder. Very rarely does one show up in my InBox.

The interface is simple and clean, and while there are ads, they're text-based and out of the way - not obtrusive at all.

FWIW, my email goes through Spamassassin first, and I was forced to blacklist Gmail because of the torrent of spam coming from it. I have blacklist Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, and a bunch of other "free" email systems because of spam. ... JD Hurst

Too Creepy is a very accurate way to describe this service.

While Spam is certainly annoying, it's nothing more than that.

Please remember that EVERYTHING you do on Gmail is being watched and stored for later use...

(no, I didn't say that did I?)... :!:

I got 14 Gmail accounts, 5 hotmail accounts, 3 mail.com accounts, 2 netscape accounts, 5 cashette anonymous accounts and so on.... all free mails i also have including IRQ and related stuffs  . Why i need so many accounts? To sign up for free services and newsletters and let them spam my mail box till it is full then i will ignore that account and let it disintegrate by itself :D . Gmail is used by me to store music downloads and sent huge attachments to my friends. All my projects are stored in gmails.

*14 gmail accounts does not mean i am insane* I want to save my money on a HDD. 8)

Pardon me for bringing up this thread again. Just found out something. Gmail covers the original mail headers and no IP is shown when i tried sending an email to my hotmail account.

Proof? Look below.
