T23 doesn't keep screen settings ?

#1 Post by Berny » Thu Jun 15, 2006 5:06 am

Hello,

just a short question: recently I've changed my bios setting ("display" section) to disable HV screen enlargement. I've saved changes to bios, booted to xp, looked OK.
but after the next power-on, setting was back to "HV enlargement enabled". looks like changes for HV screen enlargement in bios are not stored. but appearently all the other bios settings are stored !

anybody made the same observation ?

BTW: great forum !

Bump !!!

Can somebody please check, if this option stays activated after some reboots in his/her bios using Win XP?? I'm talking about the "HV enlargement option" in the "Display" section of the bios. In my machine it resets itself to "disabled" after the frst reboot.

kind regards.

I checked on a T20 and a T22 and both hold the display settings. Do you have the latest BIOS installed?

IBM TP T22 (900/512/40/DVD/CDRW/14")

yes, latest bios and embedded controler installed.
quite unsual, that my bios doesn't only keep THIS setting. all the rest (like serial/infrared off, beeps on etc.) will be stored according to my changes.

Then restore the factory settings, save and reboot, then try again.

ok folks, i've tried again and figured out, that the setting will be kept as long as i don't open a certain program, called "chrysler golf". quite strange, looks like this program is able to change bios settings on my TP23 and re-enables HV screen expansion. all other programs run on the "small" screen and don't change setting.

pretty weired !

anyway, thanx for your help.
