Access Connections vs Netswitcher

#1 Post by tucan » Fri Jun 16, 2006 5:30 pm

Hi All,

I am just about to get my first Thinkpad after reading all the good things you have to say.

In my work on pro networked sound systems I am always switching networks and using multiple IP addresses on one NIC. At present I use Netswitcher (http://www.netswitcher.com/) to automate the network switching side of things as it does a great job. However alot of the time a tired XP installation seems to be the cause of networking problems, frequently changing a set of multiple IP addresses to another set takes several attempts and a reboot to be sure.

So, my question is, if you were me would you use access connections (and hopefully gain better NIC control as its provided by the hardware manufacturer themselves and therefore well integrated) or ditch it and use Netwswitcher?

Any advice or views appreciated

If you are comfortable with Netswitcher, then continue to use that. Although I don't forsee much of a problem you would have with Access Connections, especially for a wired setup which it handles seemingly perfectly from what I have experienced.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
