T21 Defaults to 800x600 Display

#1 Post by shepseskaf » Sat Jun 17, 2006 1:02 am

Can anyone tell me how to configure a T21 so the display is 1024x768 vs. defaulting to 800x600. I utilized the restoration disk today and after the re-installation, the 1024x768 option was not found in the Properties > Settings tab.

Thanks.

Try using the Software Installerto update all of your drivers.

It sounds like your display/video drivers are either incorrect or not installed.

Thanks very much for your response. I note that the T21 is not listed as one of the supported notebook systems on the Software Installer page, the T23 being the earliest of that series present. I'm not sure if that makes a difference, but I'll give it a shot anyway. I also found the page to download the SavageIX8 video drive, which isn't currently installed. Hopefully one of the two solutions will work.

The Software Installer will still work on the T21, it just isn't supported.

I have used it on mine.

Thanks again for your response. I did use the software installer and it worked fine. Interestingly, it was actually the installation of the SavageIX8 video driver that did the trick as far as the display resolution options. I'm now back at the native 1024x768, and can go as high as 1600x1200.
