Lock computer tab lost???
Ok, i got another problem again!!! When i click ctrl-alt-del, the task manager should pop out with my name in it then if i click on task manager, then the manager with all the applications will come out. Now, i click ctrl-alt-del and out comes task manager. I am not using the short cut method, ctrl-shift-esc.
Now, i want to revert back to my original ctrl-alt-del, but i can't.
Help me!!! I need to lock my computer because i am leaving my computer for 20 minutes.
ThinkPads do not come with Windows keys.andy6387 wrote:a much easier way to lock your computer is to simply hit the windows key + L. I believe the reason taskmgr pops up instead of that menu is because the welcome screen is turned on. However i'm not completely sure.
To see the lock computer option upon hitting CRTL+ALT+DEL, you must disable the welcome screen, and revert to the classic style logon screen. This can be done from Control Panel > User Accounts. then you should get the lock computer button when pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL.
I frequently need to lock my T60, and what I've done to make it a little easier is create a shortcut on the desktop, with the target being %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation. Then I set the shortcut key to CTRL+ALT+L. That will lock your computer upon pressing those buttons.
Hope that helps

No one said, in this thread, that you are a liar. They were questioning the signature vs. the comment by Irksome that there were no Windows keys on Thinkpads.NS wrote:I never say anything about the windows key in my T60. So i am not the liar, lol... I just want to know how to lock my computer. <--That\'s it...
Re: Lock computer tab lost???
I did it. Open User Accounts control panel, click Change the users way of log on or off. Then alter the use the welcome screen checkbox.NS wrote:Now, i want to revert back to my original ctrl-alt-del, but i can't.Help me!!!
The T60 finger print authentication seems to take over Windows' log on and affects original ctrl-alt-del.
You need to remove the finger print driver/utility before you plan to revert it to ThinkPad original. Then you have to reinstall the finger print related package. But I have never tried it.
