Quick ram + Warranty question

Hi guys, just got a new T42 2373-8YH from a reseller in Hong Kong. My 2 questions are:

1. I know the laptop has 512 mb of ram, but is that 2 x 256 or 1 x 512? Trying to figure out if I have one slot free for more ram or if I will have to throw away a 256.

2. Do I really need the warranty card + receipt if I need service in the future?

Usually 1 slot is still open.

1 slot usually is open, try asking your seller directly.
You don't need it, but I would think it's good to keep it. The stuff you need for warrenty/service is on the bottom on the machine.
