Securedrive uninstall
Securedrive uninstall
Another noobie question. I searched but could not find...
I inadvertently installed the SecureDrive partition (100Mb) on my computer when I first got my x60s, and now would like to remove it, but it won't let me delete it. Can someone share with me how to remove this from my computer? It says it's made by Ultimaco, not IBM or MS or Lenovo.
Also, is there a way to get the battery to show time left, rather than % of battery left?
cheers,
phil

Removing a secure drive
Press the Thinkvantage button, select "protect my data", select "Manage security settings", select "protect data", select your 100MB drive in the left hand pane and click "unmount" button, wait for it to be shown as unmounted, then right click on it in the left hand pane and select "remove from list". Back out by closing everything you've opened to this point, then find the corresponding *.vol file on your hard drive using explorer search and delete it. It's likely to be called Pdisk000.vol or similar. Can someone share with me how to remove this from my computer? It says it's made by Ultimaco, not IBM or MS or Lenovo.
That's it - elementary really (by IBM standards!)

Thanks
Tony. I figure this out yesterday, and your notes describe the procedure I followed perfectly!
How about that beep when going into, and coming out of, standby mode? (only if the vol is >0, and all sounds are set to none on the control panel?)
cheers,
