sorry it was like 1:00 a.m and I had to go to bed. I just used alcohol 120 or something like that. I told it to burn an image and i browsed and got that imbwifi file and told it to burn that, but i guess it never really burnt it or something. I went back to my computer afterwards and when i clicked on the cd in the drive it didnt show any files on the disc. Im at work right now, but when i get home im going to try and burn that file on my desktop pc and than take it to my t30. I just got the burner drive for my t30 so maybe i need to update some drivers or something? Either way thanks for all your help and yes i will keep in touch when I either need more help, or get it figured out. I know i cant just tell someone to call me, but I would get this figured out much faster and somebody would end up with some money. Im seriously not some kind of freak or anything. Its just hard to keep replying and than coming back to this every other minute to see if anybody replied or not. But, regardless I still appreciate the help because i wouldnt get this card to work without you guys help.

These files should be on the disk:
- bzImage
- initrd.ini
- isolinux.bin
- isolinux.boot
- isolinux.cfg
- readme.txt
- remove01c9.bin
- remove01c9.c

You should download the patch again, maybe you changed something the ISO while using Winimage? Just start from the scratch.

See, it is not going to work like this. You did not use a program "like something" but a particular piece of software. It might be because I'm German that I am quite accurate on things, but the only way to make this work for you with your - no offense - lack of computer knowledge is if you tell people here PRECISELY what you DID and did not do. Also, give detailed informations on the errors that you get.

And please quit offering money. I'm probably not the only person that feels insulted with that. It's not the idea of these kind of forums.

Maybe you should ask someone in your vicinity that has more in-depth computer knowledge?

Im not trying to insult anybody for starters. I just really need help and trying to write out the errors and problems is not that easy. Its hard to remember all the steps you took when you go away from this for an hour and come back. I appreciate all the help and i used whatever software I was told to use in this post earlier. I think its called alcohol120%. Anyways, Im going to try and reburn the patch again on this comp at work and I will let you know what happens. Im using Nti DVD maker and its a sony product i think.

I either have software issues on my computer or something because its not letting me burn this file. Wow I have no idea what to do. This is just not working like i thought it would. I dont know if the files are getting extracted right or im missing a step somewhere? I download the patch from thinkwiki and open it. Than I go to a burning software and burn the file on a disc. It shouldnt be this hard. There has to be something im forgetting to do or dont know to do?

go to your local computer store and take the thinkpad with you. show them the thinkwiki entry, and let them do it.

you know, german efficiency and things. isnt it a common prejudice about us that we want everything to be 100% accurate and perfect?

danage- i thought that was a characteristic of another group...but not going to start that discussion.

i think it's tough to say one particular diversified group of people conducts themselves in the same manner- but i get what you're saying.
It will cost me more to do that than i paid for the card itself.
well its either you figure it out, pay to have it done, or you can change your signature to "bogged down by a stinkin' cable."

I would like to figure it out myself way first. I just tried it on Nti DvD maker and it gets almost done burning the cd and an error comes up from the zipcentral, but then the burning software says its complete. so i popped it in and retarted in f12 and when it started to go it flashed something very fast across the black screen. It said Invalid something..... It happened too fast. Im going to have to try again when i get home cuz i wont have time here at work. I will keep trying this till i get flat out frustrated. Thats why i said i will pay somebody to help me. I know its going to take somebody's time and probably make them frustrated as well dealing with me. Here in the U.S. thats called making money for a service I can't provide myself, not insulting people. Ill get back at this later when i get home after 5pm. It is almost 4pm right now and hopefully somebody will be on around that time to help more. Well thanks for what you have given me so far. I am so very close to having this thanks to you guys.

nah its culture. visit another country and you'll see what i mean. of course generalization has its faults. but all intelligence relies on it.

anyways: i really think this won't lead anywhere. my suggestiosn is to get professional help, maybe from a friend who is more familiar with computers. this is a five minute job, and right now it seems a lot of highly qualified people are wasting a lot of time with this.

i was just trying to keep things PC. im educated enough to know that these things inevitably lead back to some sort of truth.

i think this thread has been tainted enough.

Intelligence relies not on prejudice; rather, on the person that thinks for themselves; I wouldn't be using Wikipedia for anything solid by the way, ask it the right questions and you will get the "collective intelligence" (read: a set of highly optimistic attempts) version of the meaning of Life. Let us not delude ourselves with such musings. The job at hand is to help somebody get Wifi on their Thinkpad, not a descriptive attempt at what prejudice is. Try to stay on topic.

Either of those should burn the iso easily, just consult the help files for assistance burning image files.

Maybe a friend can help u burn the iso if you don't succeed.

Try to remain patient, even the simplest computer problem is hard to solve if you let it get you frustrated.

You can do this.

i dont think i have access connections on it? Im at work and I finished it up last night so I will have to check later. The longest part was getting the driver for the card, and getting it installed to the correct piece of hardware. Well that and the fact that you are instant messaging back and forth. I still havent quite figured out how to turn on the superG turbo 108g mode yet, but i saw a link where i have to mess with the registry for that to work. I may or may not do it. I have no plans on buying a 108g router and chances of somebody in public places of having one are slim.
