I am havinbg a wireless problem. Ever since I turned off my wireless for a day, it does not stay on for more than 5 minutes, and I keep having to turn it back on.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Try stopping the Windows Sero Config service and disabling its logon-service ability. As DSigma said, it is most likely a conflict.
Worst comes to worst, all it will require is a re-install of either the drivers or AC; so try the easier stuff first.

Hi,
I am also having a wireless problem...Ever since installing CSS 7 and the new version of Resue and Recovery, my wireless is dead. Will not turn on even though all says normal in Device manager. Any attempt to uninstall wireless drivers etc locks up the computer. It looks like it is working but continues for ever and takes forever for the machine to shut down....
I am thinking that since I have relatively little data on this machine, I might just nuke it and restore to factory specs and rebuild the drivers/software again......
Sound more reasonable than troubleshooting for hours?
Thanks for the input.....

Same problem
Hi everyone,
I am having intermittent operation of the wireless and the ethernet line since installing the latest version of CSS and RR too. Booting back up two or three times seems to reset AC so that the wireless and/or ethernet line works. Anyone know what is going with the latest update software. If this continues I am thinking that future software upgrades are a hassle.

Before Lenovo took over things, I never had a bit of trouble using the software installer to update my IBM notebooks.....
Seems like since they took over, things have gone downhill. From the 1.25, 1.26, 1.27 bios of the week download fiasco, to the latest CSS/R&R problems. They really better get their acts together or else market share will really go downhill!

I don't know how may times I've answered this question...
go start -> thinkvantage -> access connections -> Configure -> global settings
uncheck "Enable automatic wireless LAN radio control"
For some reason when you update AC "Enable automatic wireless LAN radio control" defaults to enabled.

I DON\'T recommend reformatting your HD unless you had tried all methods. Why i reformat my HD the other day is because i am trying to stop myself from posting my rants and grumbles inside here. I got 3 PMs from my own friends about my rantings here. No use to keep on ranting and ranting about this. Things will not get resolved by itself.
Reformat your HD: NO, please don\'t do this. I don\'t recommend this method. UNLESS you had done everything and still it does not work.
Ok, guys, try uninstalling access connection and use windows to configure your wireless. Works great for me.

Exactly the same problem. Advice from IBM support - hard drive reformat, because OS problem! Insolence or ignorance - evidently responsible is Access Connection. After uninstallation AC, windows wireless and Fn+F5 works great on my T42p, but only with Intel 9.0.4.8 drivers. Additional conflict is between Fn+F5 and Intel 10.1.1.3 software.TPadguy wrote:Hi,

Re: HELP! Wireless Shutoff Problem
First, if you are using access connections, uninstall it and let windows control the wireless adapter. If that works, then don't use access connections. If you really need access connections, make sure that you completely disable control by windows.atct86 wrote:I am havinbg a wireless problem. Some posts indicate that there might be a CSS 7 or R&R conflict. Remove both of them and see what happens. There shouldn't be any effect, but it's worth a try.
BTW, you don't need R&R to run CSS 6, which is how I have my computer configured. I ran into a lot of problems with CSS 7 and won't use it. I won't use access connections either.
Good luck, and good night...
