Palm rest / keyboard bezel partnumber.

#1 Post by Hotbrick » Tue Jun 20, 2006 5:45 am

I accidentally damaged my T42p palm rest.
As I want my TP to look nice too, I want to replace it.

But if I look at the overall parts list for the T40(p) T41(p) T42(p); the palm rest and the keyboard bezel are 2 parts, but in my machine it is only 1

Someone knows the partnumber I need to order? Or Can I fit the two parts in my 15" T42p? I don't need the touch pad...

Thanks.

For T42/p:
FRU 13R2921 = Keyboard bezel, 15" without Fingerprint sensor
FRU 41V9117 = Keyboard bezel, 15" with Fingerprint sensor

I replaced my wifi card and when I had to screw back in 6 small screws I used long ones  ; after 3 screws I thought something is wrong, I turned my TP and saw that the screws came out the palm rest    . Stupid stupid...

What I said to myself at that moment I will not post here, I think I will get banned from the forum then.....

But I can replace it for 55 Euro

Thanks EOMtp for the numbers.

 That is a story to cherish; it must have taken quite a bit of force to do that. :)

I have made the same mistake as Hotbrick -- more than once!
Unfortunately, because of the plastic coating on the screws, it takes no more force to push through the soft plastic than it takes to get the screw started. By the time one wonders where the long screw is going ... voila!
