ThinkPad EzServ service is amazing!

#1 Post by ThinkPad R » Wed Jun 21, 2006 12:25 am

I don't know why others have so much to complain about IBM/Lenovo's service. It's so amazing, I think the complaints are so made up.

Here are the problems I had with my computer.

Shaky hinges, half-closing LCD latch on the right, weak keys on keyboard, non-functional scroll, and cracked power cord plug

This is what they did.

Tightened the hinges.
Fixed the latch.
A new keyboard.
New set of mouse and touchpad AND ULTRANAV
repositioned the ring & tightened it on the power cord--> functional
Completely cleaned my computer inside out.
New cover for internal top (including palm rest, around keyboard)

And the laptop was sent 6 days ago and returned yesterday.

5 days! Pretty fast.

I'm so happy with it. They did more than I asked them to. It's absolutely amazing.

My laptop feels solid again. I really don't know why people have so much complaints.

Great to hear that, I knew there had to be something positive going on with them somewhere.

Impressive, very much so. Sounds like they did a full out tune up on your Thinkpad. :)

So did they fix everything according to your requests or did they go beyond that (besides having your computer completely cleaned inside-out?)

Also, do you know if it was Solectron that did the repair or someone else? The name should be affixed in the address label.

I just got my box today. Is there anything I should do in particular?

Hey man. I just posted about the great service I had with my MOBO replacement sent out on a Monday returned on Wednesday.I posted it because people were always complaining. But only to balance things out not to shut down their opinions or stories. People do have problems and people like us do have great stories. But enjoy your laptop.

No, IBM fixed it. I think the service depot is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
:D All others good luck with your thinkpad.

I wanted to piggy back on yours. I just last Thursday I sent in my Thinkpad because a drop cracked the palmrest and messed up the HD. It was fixed in two days. I have a new palmrest, keyboard, hard drive, and best of all my hinges were tightened. Group projects and other people adjusting the screen, and just CONSTANT USE made them "normal". But they tightened to feel like new. My computer feels brand new because everything that you do touch is. Minus the windows stickers of course. I have already bought back my accidental warranty with the repairs so I am truly satisfied.

I am delighted to hear the positive reports here. They mirror my earlier experiences up to 2005. Then I did have a couple of bad results with repairs not done correctly with poor documentation and then sending the laptop back (which was perfectly clean when I shipped it) very dirty with smudges on the front of the display as well...

So I'm happy to hear that perhaps mine were simply isolated incidents that will not be repeated the next time I have to send one of my ThinkPads in for attention.
