What is better 2623DDU or 2613ETU?

I wanna buy new t60p. There are two options - to buy 2623ddu from reseller or to buy from lenovo. When I go to lenovo site, click t60p buy and custimize - result is 2613ETU, which I couldn't find in tabook. It looks quite similar to 2623ddu and even price is equal to price on costcentral. Who knows, is there any difference between this options? May be 2613 is updated, without such problems, like noice fan, and overheat? What do you reccomend to buy 2623ddu or 2613etu. The similarity depends mostly on what you specified when you configured your 2613 system

The problem is, that you couldn't order 2623ddu from site. When you try to order something similar you get 2613. It's seems, there is no difference, may be just new lenovo series. I'm guessing now, isi it better or worse, than 2623.

Actually they both are wireless ready. The difference is that the 2613 can be ordered with your choice of WiFi (Intel, IBM) while there is no choice with the 2623 - it only comes with Intel

i didnt mean wireless ready- i meant one already has the pci card installed, the other does not. i was just going off of the description above and stating the (semi) obvious.

They both have PCI radios installed. On one version you get to choose what's installed, on the other you don't get to choose. By "wireless upgradable" I think what Lenovo is trying to say is that it comes with the IBM card, or if you want you can "upgrade" to the Intel card and make the machine technically a "Centrino Duo"

Try to order it without wireless - I was unable to do so, but maybe I missed something? Of course all modern notebooks have an antenna built in. It would be silly to option it out given that it hardly costs anything and allows all LCD displays to be built the same.

Both are with wireless. rvacha is absolutely right. Instead of possible choise of IBM a/b/g for 2613, it seems there is no difference at all. May be just some issues were fixed in 2613 I hope .

Actually, I am in the same boat you are in. I am deciding on ordering a T60p, currently have a T42p. I also was debating on the 2623DDU or the custom configured 2613ETU. So I called a sales rep from Lenovo and he tells me that the 2623DDU are still available for order. He further informs me that Lenovo is moving away from the IBM model listing format and going to the online customizable website. So I guess in the future there will be no tabook and standardized models.

a 2613 designation simply means that Lenovo is using a T60 shell and inserting all the customized parts you have ordered. A 2623 is just a pre-configured T60. I don't believe there is any intrinsic difference, in theory you could configure a 2613 so that it is identical to a 2623.

I have a 2613EMU that is basically a highly customized 2623DDU.

By most accounts, 2GB is the sweet spot for Windows, but I doubt many buyers will put down $1000 to get there, particularly when the same configuration was offered as recently as two weeks ago for much less.

Well, in one model they will go for a 2x1gb config, while in the other the 2GB option is for 2GBx1, and those sticks are crazy expensive right now.

Undoubtedly, the cost of the 1x configuration is much higher, but they deliver equal performance. From the consumer perspective, why would someone want to pay $1000 more for the same performance?

May be getting one 2Gb stick will leave a free memory slot, allowing us to put another 2Gb stick to total 4Gb?? And yes, a 2Gb stick is much more expensive than 2 1Gb stick.

T60 is dual channel capable, right? So by installing 2 sticks improves memory performance too I think.
