T22 Freezes

#1 Post by tehsu » Thu Jun 22, 2006 2:03 am

I reassembled the T22, changed the board, and if i move it at all, touch the keyboard alot, it messes up, it freezes, I personally thing that the keyboard gets pushed out of the socket, and so it freezes, but all the screw are there, any ideas?

You could try removing the keyboard again and try reseating it. Also, make sure that it and everything beneath it is sitting properly. It might be that the keyboard, when being depressed, is forcing something else to contact the systemboard, thus freezing the system. This could lead to shorting out the systemboard.

in 90% of the cases i've had, freezes were caused by memory defects. is the module seated properly. did it work before you disassembled it?

I agree on the memory issue. That is my normal frame of reference, but in this case, I strayed away from it without thinking since the keyboard was mentioned.

I would definately recommend reseating the memory, first.
