recently i have upgrade my hard drive to a hitachi 80 gb 7200 rpm 7k100,

Can you post what the Blue Screen error was?

A lot of times that will tell you exactly what the problem is.

sorry i just had another restart in the middle of the post.

my blue screen error is

STOP 0x0000009F: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

i ran the hd hitachi Drive Fitness Test =nothing

update the drivers with ibm ThinkVantage System Update =nothing

i checked the firmware with ibm Hard drive firmware update utility=nothing

i don't know what else to do ?
