T42 back from repair, and now.....

about a month ago i had my T42 2373's mainboard replaced because it had been freezing. the standard video problem i assumed.

anyway. just yesterday, it did a new kind of freeze. it was running fine, then all of the sudden the screen goes completely black, I do a hard shut down (5 seconds on the power button) and it wont come back, it turns on but still stays black. the machine did seem hot so i figured i'd let it cool off and try it later. and voila, it worked. at that point in time i was using it in bed so the overheat was somewhat excusable.

today, I was using it at my desk, and it did the same thing. so i let it cool a bit, and restarted it, opened the fan control and cranked it up to 7. the cpu temp is sitting at about 50 degrees. I'm not sure what's going on. but im' not happy. I was just without it for a week and a half for tha last repair job, and now this. Any ideas?

CPU is sitting at 50, but the GPU is up at 57, and i'm only web browsing.

Those temps are not responsible of the freeze as they are far below the maxs. I'm afraid you have to send it back to service one more time ...

Try CTRL-ALT-DEL and see if there are program tasks that utilize the CPU unnessecarily when the cpu is at 50 degrees.
