Is it possible to remove this black chip ?

Should I open the screen and try to remove myself ?

Hmmm; no, you might very well introduce more problems trying to get rid of it by opening up the LCD assembly. If you feel comfortable with replacing it with a new screen, you can do so provided you find a new screen for your T60. I would send it in for service. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

No. You will void your warranty.
This sounds like a warranty claim to me. It should be fixed no problem.
