ultraslim bay into 570 dock

#1 Post by dsigma6 » Fri Jun 23, 2006 10:35 pm

once again, i can't turn up something i've previously found using search..

i want to put an ultraslim bay floppy into the 570 dock. the ultraslim has a lip about 1/8-1/4 inch larger than the dock opening. can the floppy be taken out of its enclosure and put into the shell that the cd drive uses? a redirect to a post on here will suffice.

thanks!

Turn the floppy over and look at the bottom of the lip. Should be one or two screws going through it. Remove them and the lip can be slid off the floppy drive and it will fit the Ultrabase perfectly.

Same thing can usually be done with other 600 series bay devices, although some have fixed lips.
