Software Installer not working on my T41p...

Greetings all,

I have a problem with my Software Installer that's been happening pretty much since Lenovo took over. Every time the program tries to scan my hard drive for the currently installed driver versions, if fails.

The "Searching..." dialog with the progress bar appears, and then simply disappears or closes the program all together. I have tried reinstalling the Software Installer but it didn't help. The version I'm using is 3.60.0608.

Another thing I noticed is that there is no IBMTOOLS folder on my C drive, though I'm not sure whether there was supposed to be one. I certainly didn't remove anything and this is the original IBM Windows install with SP2 added. I do have the DRIVERS folder.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am also having similar case for all my TPs. I heard from many people that IBM and Lenovo updates are slightly different. Is that true?

Not only your T41, all my 4 TPs also the same. Why?
