Lets run some benchmarks??

#1 Post by irfan » Sat Jun 24, 2006 12:20 pm

It may be nice to create a benchmark database for various T60 models. I suggest that we run some benchmarks and document the results for comparison. This way maybe we can also try some methods to optimize the performance of our T60's. Here are some nice benchmark tools.

Cinebench

Sciencemark

SuperPi

I think this is a cool idea, but for fun it would be nice if we threw in a decent benchmark that specifically utilizes dual cores. Any body have suggections?

Actually cinebench and the sciencemark heaviliy utilizes both of the cores. Even more, with cinebench, you may run the benchmark both on the single core and the two cores.

here are my results, but first the test setup:
------------------------
T60 2007-C4U
2 GHz Core Duo
1 GB DDR2 667 MHz RAM
80 GB 5400 RPM Toshiba Drive
---------------------------------------

SuperPi 2M calculation -> 1m 11 secs
Cinebench 9.5 1 CPU -> 298
Cinebench 9.5 2 CPU -> 552
Sciencemark 2 Molecular Dynamics -> 73 secs (Smilar test on Pentium-940 ended in more than 80 secs)
