more help on Rescue and Recovery

#1 Post by cyberjas » Tue Jun 27, 2006 9:35 am

Hi all !

First of all I'd like to say hi to all the forum members, it's a great forum !! This is my first post and I have a Thinkpad Z60m.

I also ran into troubles after upgrading Rescue and Rovery and CSS. After upgrading Rescue and Recovery System Update uninstalled my CSS and also erased the image on the rescue partition.

since I have a SecureDrive mounted I have to re-install CSS to enable the partition, so I downloaded v7 on the net, all the setup is ok and it re-configured my CSS setup. After a reboot it lost my SecureDrive password and I cannot mount nor decrypt the SecureDrive volumne anymore !! :(

I've contacted the local Lenovo support and the matter has been escalated and pending for reply, since they notice te problem is more serious than they though it would. I'll keep you posted on this issue.

My question is has anyone encountered similar problems and are there anyway to get Rescue and Recovery and CSS extracted from the image ?? I'm guessing my DVD recovery disc is no good...I want the actory version so i can see if the old backups can be seen (it's not even visible in my USB drive for some reason...) and maybe I could recovery my system from that.

Thanks in advance !!

Jason

If there is help to be found, most likely it is in the following thread from the Windows OS forum.
