After 1 month of use, status of my T60p (2007-86U)
The only modification I did, was to add 1GB of RAM, for a total of 2GB, up to now, NO ISSUES AT ALL, everything is fine
, the machine works great, none of the reported problems (in this forum) are present. thanks

after exchanging my initial dud, my new 2623-DDU is great. the screen is perfect, the battery barely has any play; heck after installing another 1GB of memory (patriot brand from newegg, incase you're wondering) even the palm rest doesn't squeek. tonight I install the atheros mini PCI wifi card I got off ebay.brosen wrote:The only modification I did, was to add 1GB of RAM, for a total of 2GB, up to now, NO ISSUES AT ALL, everything is fine, the machine works great, none of the reported problems (in this forum) are present. thanks

What kind of difference do you notice between the original intel wireless card and the atheros? Was considering doing the swap as I find that I am getting poor signals with intel.
Thanks in advance for the feedback.

So I fibbed and didn't get around to installing it last night; though I will tonight. I'll be sure to log the signal levels from the Intel before hand. I can see about 8 wireless networks from within my apartment (100 year old concrete building).

I have a 2700 93U and also added 1 gb ram. I had a little problem at first with low signal and drop off until I set the XP wireless software off by going to services and setting the zero wireless configration to stop and manual.

aarong,
Have you installed ypur Atheros card? What differences have you noticed? My Intel card in my 2623 d6u running side by side with my SMC wireless card in my Samsung laptop is definitely weaker and I am constantly getting disconnected. Still I'd like to get some more conclusive info from those of have done the switch from Intel 3945 to ATheros in their 2623 (d6u in particular).
Thanks aarong !
