ATI Drivers + Patje Modder + 1400x1050

#1 Post by rcw3 » Tue Aug 10, 2004 12:35 am

I have a T42P with the ATI Fire GL2 video...

I have an external 20" LCD with 1600x1200....

I have Doom 3...

Solution #1:
Tried to use the standard IBM drivers... stable, works fine but slow in Doom 3, but NO 1600x1200 on the external LCD.

Solution #2:
Ok, I've successfully installed Omega drivers... moderately stable, doesn't seem to work right with Doom, and the 1600x1200 on the external LCD seems to function (although I had a little difficulty with extending the desktop to it).

Solution #3:
Latest ATI Drivers (or even the ATI 3.9beta drivers) modded with Patje Modder. Supposedly works great with Doom and with external LCD. The problem - 1400x1050 doesn't appear to be a supported resolution. This is gotta be something in an ini file right? HELP!!!

the reason the omega's do not function is because tripple buffering is on for OpenGL by default, and a FireGL T2 can not use that. Install Radlinker which installs an advanced OpenGL control panel and turn off Tripple Buffering to make the omega's work.
