WLAN doesnt work with Fedora 5 and my X40

#1 Post by KITT » Wed Jun 28, 2006 4:06 am

hi!

how can I activate WLAN and connect to some hotspot with fedora 5?
in administration of fedora5 there is a network application, when I start ist, I can choose some device, and activate it. I already created some Type:Wireless profiles. But that doesn't work either. He do not even recognizes any Type:Wireless Cards. Only Type:Ethernet, there I can choose my WLAN Card.

Please Help!

Cheers,
KITT

thanks. due I have no internet access, I cannot perform this step:

rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-5.rpm

I will download the package at work and copy it to my notebook, and shall I install it then with following command?

rpm -ivh localpackage.rpm

thanks a lot,

Yeah, the -i means install, the -v is verbose and -h is print hash marks as the package is unpacked. You might want to save or print the full instructions as well so that you can follow them at home.

Hope this helps..
