What else is the X40 'USB power connector' useful for

beside for the IBM external drive, can other brand devices use it. i am not very clear on all the products and models for laptops. Now every time i want to use a portable hard disk, I need to plug it into both USB (the left and right side). It make the laptop looks very stupid. Those laptops with their USB connectors side by side are much more convenient. Is there a cable that we can buy to make use of this power connector.

I am having the same exact problem. The driver is located in the C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\SDIO directory. I spoke with IBM and the only way to get it is to do a reload with the original software. Could someone please pull the files out of that directory and email it to me as well?

Were you able to find them yourself?
