A docking station poll..

#1 Post by jagged » Thu Jun 29, 2006 11:31 pm

For our T60 owners, hope you don't mind. I'm curious to see your experiences on the Thinkpad docking solutions offered for the T60...

p.s. I know there's a related thread but hope the moderators won't mind this poll. :)

I'm not voting in your poll because my answer isn't there. I would get the advanced dock. It's not perfect, but it offers options that give your Thinkpad near-desktop-like flexibility. And I've never heard of any USB problems on the Advanced Dock like there are with the mini dock.
Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.

For me either "dock" is better than the port replicator since they both have DVI output.

Yeah, I notice it too. I would like to upgrade my port rep (give it to the missus) and upgrade it to a adv mini dock but I notice that too many forum members have problems with it.

I hope all the issues will be solved by the time the next bios comes out

I have not had too many problems.... :D

but, and there is always a but, but the reason for this is that I managed to find a demonstration unit on sale which means a) I did not pay full price and b) that it had been tested and used by IBM before they used it and thus this one works like a charm ...

this said: i did have a few problems, but they were solved once I change a few configuration items ...

all in all I do like the dock but would not a) buy one at full price and b) buy one that had not be tested and used by IBM itself before selling it ...
