IBM a/b/g Mini PCI adapter II Atheros install problem

#1 Post by yourself » Sat Jul 01, 2006 2:53 pm

Hi all, a little help for a fellow forumer please :D

I recently removed my Intel 2200bg from my T43, but now upon installing and uninstalling of the drivers, installing the Atheros card, and reinstalling either the included CD drivers and old IBM access connections, or installing the 4.12 access connections, I cannot use FnF5 to turn on or off the wireless. Bluetooth is fine in all cases.

The XP side of the wireless seems fine, but access connections 4.12 no go.

Here is what I've already tried:
1) uninstall Access connections
2) uninstall atheros drivers
3) reboot
4) install Access connections again
-but during bootup, it normally tries to install the card and ethernet controller first... so I guess this is maybe the problem(the order of installation?)
-I can't seem to fix this.
5) upon a reboot, the access connections on fn f5 will not be able to manipulate the WIFI at all... bluetooth still works.

-any ideas? TIA!

update: I installed version 3.82 of Access Connections off the IBM website, and it all works... but curious, I hear version 4.01 works for most people, is there anyone that has a copy of the .exe file, or even the name of the .exe (ie: WW3XXX#X#.exe) for AC 4.01?

thanks!

The name of the file is 77cn36ww.exe. I have the file, but with only a cellular connection available, I do not wish to send it at this time. It is 9.736 MB. In a month or so I should have a faster connection available and I can send it to you then - if you still want it.

thanks GomJabbar... I'd appreciate it, maybe I'll start searching to see if I can get the file... :)

yet another update:

-I have installed AC 4.12 from the Software Installer, upgrading AC 3.82, which originally worked after my first posting.

so AC 4.12 now officially works so far, this is good news, thanks GomJabbar for offering 4.01.

good news!
