Charging batteries simultaneously?

Hi peops,

I've a T42p (2373-P3G) which usually carries two batteries. Is there any way to convince the system to charge both batteries at the same time? I'm asking this because charging the last 2-5% of the primary batt takes easily half an hour or more, while the Ultrabay batt sits there idly ...

I have a similar setup as yours, however i don't think there is a way to charge both bats at the same time, one has to fully charge before the another. I also find it annoying that the bay battery discharges before the main battery is used.

i don't know as I haven't tested - but what about the charging threshold settings in Power Manager - maybe if they were set to stop charging at 95% then it would move onto the next battery?

That may work on a T43 but its not an option on a T42.

The power supply in a T4x is rated to charge one battery while simultaneously running the ThinkPad. It is not rated to charge two batteries while simultaneously running a ThinkPad. The T4x power supply rating level is set to be fully functional within the 75W of energy available from an EmPower socket at an airline seat.

Be thankful you dont have one of the Dell laptops that was not as thoughtfully designed and is not able to charge even one battery while running off EmPower!
