Thinking about selling my 600

#1 Post by rfcroc » Mon Jul 03, 2006 2:27 pm

Original 600 I picked up for a project
I've got $133.00 into it with all I've listed below:

TP 600 15.00
HDD 20.00
Caddy 8.00
RAM 15.00
CMOS 8.00
AC Adapter 15.00
PCMCIA 80211.g 20.00
Neoprene Sleeve 20.00
(2)Batteries 12.00

Model 2645-45U - PII 300 mhz -160MB of PC-66 (32 mb+128 mb IBM branded) 13.3"screen (1 dead pixel)
Brand New BIOS batt, Like new dogbone AC adapter
New wireless-g MIMO PCMCIA adapter, 20 gb Hitachi HDD (no bad sectors)
Windows XP-SP2 updated

Issues: no BIOS Errors, but it BSODs when trying to boot with batteries installed. Runs fine with Battery power or AC only. No idea on Battery Life.

My wife hates the trackpoint. She loves my T30, and I will probably buy her one.
Think I can get my $133 back? Or should I just keep it?
It's surprisingly quick for a P2 (I turn off all the XP bells & whistles)

P4-M 1.6 1.5 Gb RAM
Hitachi 7K100 60 Gb

T40 2374-RU6
P-M 1.5 1.28 gb RAM
Hitachi 7K100 80 Gb

i would keep it- but if youre going to sell it, i don't know if anyone would pay the $133 or whatever it is you paid for it. i think $100 would be feasable. ebay opens up a whole new world of people that pay more than the item is remotely worth.

Well I could just keep the neoprene sleeve and MiMo adapter and sell it for no loss at $93.00. I prefer not to go the eBay route, but if need be I will.

Yeah, if you keep the sleeve and the adapter, you could sell it for $100, plus shipping and make $7.00.

Or even better, sell it with one battery, then sell the other battery separately and make a little extra.

but it BSODs when trying to boot with batteries installed.
quite annoying ! this will result in a huge discount.
keeping it is no option, because your wife hates it. so nobody will really use it. sell it for max. 100 bucks, as long as it is worth it (before everybody wants a VISTA machine).

The BSOD would most likely be a problem that will be eliminated once an OS is added. I don't believe that this system would come with an OS, for this price.
