My T41 took a hard fall of my coffee table yesterday. The lid was 1/2 open and it was running when it did. It flipped over landing on the top, I thought the LCD might have cracked.
When I picked it up and looked at it it was in the process of rebooting, and when it did: No problems whatsoever. I admit I should be more careful, but I can't help but take for granted the toughness of TPs.

Awesome; was that, though, your T43 or your T41?t20user wrote:My T43 took a hard fall of my coffee table yesterday. The lid was 1/2 open and it was running when it did. It flipped over landing on the top, I thought the LCD might have cracked.

Either way, the HDAPS should have ramped the HDD heads when it sensed sudden acceleration. So the HDD is probably fine.
Glad everything is OK.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Exactly why we love them
In my company, we use TP's all the way.
One great advantage in the sturdiness and finish of the Thinkpad is, that the engineers and guys doing work in the field dont have to worry about their machines breaking down after taking a beating or two, or being ruined by greasy fingers etc.
Although I twitch when I see a brand new T43p being molested in the workshops.
